The Oxford Memorial Library seeks an enthusiastic, energetic and dynamic candidate for the position of Library Director. The Oxford Memorial Library is a public library chartered by NYS as a school district library to serve the Oxford Academy Central School District, with a population of 4,917. We have an annual operating budget of $177,696 much of which is secured by tax levy. We are in Chenango County and a member of the Four County Library System. The position requires a minimum of an Associate’s Degree and experience with administration and management staff, preferably in a library.

Vicky House, Oxford Town/Village Historian, will share her PowerPoint Presentation on the “Gang” that dominated upstate New York for decades. From counterfeiting, horse stealing, witness intimidation, rape and even murder, this family reigned over the countryside and left their mark in our history.
Whether or not you are a descendent of the Loomis family, you will want to hear what started their reign and how it ended. If you are a descendant of the Loomis family, we would love to hear what stories your ancestors shared with you.
